Adult Classes

Are you rather new to or overly familiar with this whole Christianity thing? Want to grow deeper in your faith? Want to be challenged intellectually and spiritually in an environment where questions and discussions are welcomed? Sunday adult classes at Hillside cover a broad range of topics. From Scripture, to figures in Christian history, to current cultural issues that affect our faith; all sorts of subjects are open for discussion and exploration.

Starting 9:20 am, Sept 21. 2008, meeting in the large classroom.

"The Shack" by William P. Young

This fall will be reading and discussing the controversial novel, the Shack.  This book attempts to portray the Trinity in ways that make God easier to understand.  Eugene Peterson, professor emeritus at Regent College, comments on the book.

"When the imagination of a writer and the passion of a theologian cross-fertilize the result is a novel on the order of 'The Shack'.  This book has the potential to do for our generation what John Bunyan's "Pilgrim's  Progress' did for his.  IT's that good!"

Not all people agree with this sentiment, however.  Come join our discussion of this powerful book for 8 sundays, beginning Sept. 21.

Charis Weathers will lead this class.
